Try hitting F9 in BIOS (load setup defaults). If that doesn't fix it. it could be the HD isn't seated correctly, bad hard disk or bad motherboard. |

On a T40, the easiest way is to use an alagator clip hooked to the metal pieces (springs) that hold the wireless card into the PCI slot. |

The X31 has its security chip on a daughter board at the left front. (right next to the firewire port) Make sure that board is well connected. |

If I remember correctly, R30 uses a regular 8-pin R24RF08. It is under the PC card cage and under a black plastic sheet. You need only to remove the keyboard, palmrest and PC card cage. |
