i have x240 with 4010u ( motherboard 04X5168 ) . it has SMSC IC and Thinkengine IC , so no eeprom, no solution Sad

Is there. Leave it be, you can't replace it it has a microcode for EC (pre-programmed) that is paired with the BIOS. Also the eeprom inside has the UUID and MAC.

The solution is posted above.
