Hello everybody,

I wanted to start my SVP unlocking session of the W541 from a friend and have several problems. First the W541 won‘t start after the disassembly. I found out, the I had to connect the USB (I/O) Card, then W541 startet when pushing the power button.

But now I have problem, that the SPEG Programmer didn‘t find the EEPROM. I never get the JEDEC ID. I feel it could be a problem with Windows 10 1909 (32Bit). About two years ago I‘ve used the SPEG Programmer without any problems under Win 10 (1703 or so...). Hardware is the same, ThinkPad T400 with native LPT port on the Docking Station (LPT1, 378h, IRQ 7). I don‘t think, that the Clip or the SPEG Programmer are the reason for this problem. Has anybody tried to work under Win 10 1909 successfully?

Regards,

XStoneX

Sadly I haven‘t received it! I‘ll check my spam folder...

EDIT: it was moved to my spam folder - many thanks! Maybe we can find a solution for the connection problem too...

EDIT2: Everything is fine, I've tried to read out the EEPROM's with the ThinkPad powered on! Shocked That was the mistake. Without power, the chips where read out without any problems.

Once again: big thanks to Victor!
