| Hello, correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming that pc8394 kit interface is COM port based. If thats the case would it actually work with an active USB->DB9 adapter on a Windows10 machine? |

Yes is serial port driven. Requires a real COM1 (legacy 3F8 address) and USB 2 COM are not good, unless they are those expensive ones using a programmable UART. But you may use an Express Card COM port
Or I would suggest finding an older Thinkpad T30 or a Dell unit with COM port
