On October 18, I updated the BIOS on my T60 to the most current. The update went ok until I restarted. On reboot, the machine would scan my fingerprint, say it was approved, then drop me into a password prompt! This never used to happen... ok... so I removed the internal HDD and tried to get into BIOS. This went well enough, but I noticed I was in user mode! After plugging the HDD back in, I was able to boot via finger-print... very strange!

I called IBM, and they said there was nothing they could do for me about the password issue, short of replacing the motherboard - which they would charge me for. Fine, so I got the bright idea to pull the CMOS battery, thinking it might clear the SVP... No such luck. Now I have a machine that won't accept my previous user-mode startup password, but accepts my fingerprint Question and drops me to a password prompt anyways!

Now, I've ordered the full $110 kit from allservice and paid through western union. How long does it usually take to get this kit?

Actually, if you made the payment using moneybookers, it takes 1-2 hours. I can't guess your name from here, but send us the order form to proove the payment. If you have licensing issues, email us directly.

[Edit]

For WU payments you have to wait 24 hours.

What does the error, "Error: device is not available!" mean?
