Hello to everybody

i've bought a compaq nc6230 on ebay, but the Book got POWER_ON Password + HDD LOCK (sata, wont boot at my pc, extern).

Ive disambled the whole notebook...cut off battery...and everytjing else.

1 night later i plugged in AC and turned it on without hdd, etc...but the password is still their.

Whre can i find the chip( eeprom)? can i read its contents out?
I only found one eeprom 24c64-...but i think it is a Ethernet eeprom...


The HDD is also locked. I give a damn 2 the seller from ebay. i dont know what to say..and how to act.

I would like to bring the notebook to move on.

Can anybody help me please???

try it boot batery pack unplugged vith ac adapter i sucessfully unlocked nc6110 .

you can unlock the most hp models with the old trick.

remove the battery,

remove the cmos battery,

short the +/- of the cmos battery.

plugin the ac adapter and power on.

now you have bypass the powerpn password.

How to Use:

If the notebook you are servicing has an unknown password, follow these steps to clear the password. These steps also clear CMOS:

1. Enter an incorrect password and press enter.
2. Repeat Step 1 two times.
After the third entry of the incorrect password, the notebook responds with a "system Disabled" message and provides an override password.
3. On working computer, access MS/DOS by clicking Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
4. Change directories to C:\Swsetup\Unlock6
5. Enter "unlock6 xxxxx 0", where "xxxxx" is the password generated by the notebook in Step 2.
The notebook responds with another system-generated password.
This password can be used to unlock the notebook and reset the password.
