As a matter of fact yes, you will read the password in scan code or the password hash.
If it is not passphrase , all you have to do is to use IBMpass to reveal the word. But if it is, then the writer is needed, because the only way to bypass the lock is to overwrite the chip. |

So Victor if i want to Know the password......i just need the READER software!!!!.......i dont have enough money to spend 110 dolars....im from Mexico we are poor here....heheheheh.....can i do the job only with the reader software? |

Once again,
If the passphrase is disabled, you would need only the reader, otherwise the chip must be reprogrammed and you have to purchase the whole package.
For the forum record:
Passphrase is the BIOS option that allows users to enter long passwords. The result is an encrypted 8 byte long hash.
By using this algorithm, the password can be longer than usual, but the hash has the same size.
The algorithm is not reversible, when the user enters a password, it is computed and compared with the hash stored in the chip. If they match, then the lock is disabled.
In conclusion, to get rid of a passphrased password it is necessary to modify the original binary and reprogram the chip. |

Your software worked Great in a Lenovo T43 Type 1871
But i have two identical laptops here in my workshop, it seems that the other one has the passphrase activated, i readed successfully the eeprom but the hole file is in blank, ca you tell me what to do next?, Victor Im sendind to support@.....ro a copy of the file generated is that ok? |
