Hi Victor and Bob,

I successfully built (I think) the simple circuit for my X41. However, I can't make out my password from IBMPass.

Exactly which of these letters/bytes make up my password?

If I select x338 to x33f I get '__A8___N'. However, even if they looks like spaces here, the encoded values for the "spaces" is not the same, and hence suggests that they are not the same character? (For example 8b, e2, b7, 8d, 70). underscore = space

How am I to interpret this? Can I type those "funny" spaces somehow?

I've tried using 'A8', '__A8', '__A8___N' for the password but they all are a no go. I've also tried all alternate scancode variations but they don't work either.

Classic scancode translation:

Alternate scancode translation:

Is there something I'm missing?

Yes, you are missing the eeprom writer Smile
Your password is passphrased, it is TCPA encrypted and in there is only a hash.
To unlock the laptop, the dump must be edited (by us) and the eeprom reprogrammed (by you). All you need is to aquire the eeprom writer license and the TCPA reset service.

Ok.

I've built the Simple Circuit to read the eeprom, can I write with this one aswell, or do I need to build another interface?

If I pay you today (right now actually), can you edit my dump today?

Best regards

Yes, you can use it for writing as well as for the reading, the software makes the difference.

And yes, as soon as you confirm the transfer ($30+$25) in the moneybookers acount, and you email the dump to us.

What is wondeful: the svp is not erased. Thank you _very_ much for your support Victor! I really really do appreciate it!

What is NOT that wunderful, the harddrive is password protected aswell. The following icon is displayed when I connect the harddrive:

Is this strictly a hard drive related issue? And if so, all I need to do is buy a new hard drive?

The HD password is located in the drive platter, it is not stored in the prom. Moreover, the HDP is passphrased as well, meaning it is encrypted in the same manner. We hope to find a solution and to include the passphrase algo in the future EraseON versions.

Good luck!
