Hi!
If I try to update from IBET45JR to 1.22 (IBET54WW) at a IBM ThinkPad 600 Type 2645 I get the following error message:

Battery pack is fully charged, AC adapter is connected.

If I try with this well known process:
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Talk:BIOS_Upgrade
I get the error: "AC not found"

The Stinky boots without error codes and the diagnostic passes with absolutely no error.
So where is my fault?

What is exactly your model, because the update you want to do is for 600e, 2645-55x,A5x. So, is this 600E or 600?

Secondly, the laptop must be powered through the original power adapter not from the docking, just in case. Oh, and remove any PCMCIA cards.

Hello!
It is a Thinkpad 600 - 2645 - 350
There are a lot of more numbers on the bottom.
Yes, it is powered by the original power supply.

Sorry, I made a mistake, the BIOS file it is indeed the good one for your model.

If your AC adapter is good and it is firmly connected, I don't see one good reason for this error. I hope the AC power led lits on?

There is a way to bypass the AC and battery check, by using another update program (they are all phoenix utilities), I have to look in my archive to see.

Anyway, 600 series are known for strange problems, I suggest you to:
- remove the battery and AC adapter.
- insert the battery, power on the laptop and leave it for a while on battery. If the battery was full, this will consume some of it and the percentage will drop below 90%.
- insert the AC adapter, now the laptop starts to charge the batt and the AC adapter mode should be triggered enough to be noticed by the lazy BIOS
- perform the BIOS update.

Looks like the board is defective.

But, it is charging the battery at least? Do you have another AC adapter around (any Thinkpad yellow tipped 16V adapter will work)?

I now have tested it with another 4.5A (oroiginal IBM but not yellow) adapter.
Same result.
Yes it charges the battery.
Maybe I should get a new battery - The ones I have are OK, but they do not have the full capacity (approx 2 - 3 hours)
