Hi everyone!
Nice forum, great help.
I've been searching for ways to fix my T20 (PIII 650, 2647-A2G), which has been showing the typical 0175 + POST error after startup.
I have no password, just this error and if I leave the notebook on for about 20 minutes, the screen goes blank and the leds go crazy.
I've read many pages here + Raymond's awesome tutorials, so now I have just a few questions I'm not sure about.
1) I'm still not sure which interface I should build (simple or driven), but if I do build the driven one, I'm not sure where I can find the MAX232 IC. My local electronics company has this: "SP232ACN-L ... RS232 SOIC16, possible replacement for MAX232CSE". Will this work? Costs 1 USD.
2) Would anyone be able to explain or have pictures of where the EEPROM is on the mainboard. I can take pics once I take the notebook apart so someone can point at it.
Thanks for your help! |

1. It works.
2. No need to take it apart, the eeprom is located near the memory slots, if you follow the tutorial.
In my opinion, this laptop has a faulty DC/DC converter. Is it worth to fix the CRC only if you fix the mainboards power controllers, or the errors will ocur again. _________________ Victor Voinea
