Hi, I would like to thank you for your good work. I've recovered the lost password from my ThinkPad r32. Now I can enter Bios and change passwords enable and disable them, but the notebook does not boot because I get the following error: "0195 Security hardware tamper detected." I've read that I need to use the Clear Security Chip option in BIOS - CONFIG - SECURITY CHIP. But when I enter this page, the options are disabled and I can't modify anything. Can anybody help me ? Thanks.

You have to enter BIOS by using the SVP password not the POP.
Also is better to power up holding the <Fn> pressed, just until the POST screen shows up. Then type F1, enter SVP and go clear the security chip.

I've tried using the SVP but it does not work. The clear security option is still disabled. I can’t find a solution. Any suggestion ?

If it can help, I get two errors:

1)Resource Conflict - Allocation Error Static Node # 10
and
2)0195 Security hardware tamper detected.

I’m still trying to find a solution.

Hi,

It could be a defective security chip. Did somebody try to do something in that area?
Anyway, remove the CMOS batt for 5-10 seconds. Enter BIOS again and wipe the SVP, set the time and date and save. Reboot, enter again and see if the "Clear Security Chip" options is allowed.
If not, then the security chip is not working
