I know that the SCL/SDA signals are available on the dock connector, but does anyone here know which pins?
Thank you in advance,

Sincerely, I never used the docking connector to read the eeprom on X23-X24. I am not sure if X23 and X24 have the SDA&SCL wired to it as I never checked.
But X20 series have the 8 lead 24RF08 placed near this connector you mentioned and I suggest you to dismantle the machine and connect the wires on the eeprom. If you need a picture with eeprom position just tell us. |

This is the picture you need. I have to delete your post because we can't tolerate commercial sites advertised here. Enjoy.

|
|
Hi, just a note, the docking pins maybe reversed, don't know whether it is due to model, year, which X2 it is in the series. Mine is an X22 model 2662. The pins look to be reversed on mine compared to the picture. The four pins on the right side of the picture are on the left side of my machine. I am guessing it is just a straight reversal. Anyway, I hope I don't cause any more problems for myself!!!!
Let you know what happens, if anything.

Well, so much for that. I received an error:
Initializing timer...4513OK!
ERROR: Eeprom not available
I guess it isn't a direct reversal of the conn dock plug. I can't see anything wrong with my interface (as if I would know). It does look ok according to the pictures I could make out.
Has anyone had success with an X22-2662-9BU?? I know that would be a miracle...
Is there a site that tells what pins represent? How did you figure out which pins on the picture above? I don't want to take the laptop apart if I can avoid it, I'm afraid I wouldn't get it back together.

The pins are not reversed. The picture here is upside-down to show the atmel, just rotate the picture if you want. This is the connection. I suggest you to use the driven max232 interface. |

Bob, of course, I didn't think there was enough room for things between the conn and the edge of the computer, so I thought mine was backwards.
Anyway, I used the simple interface (which for a novice, is not simple). I used clips on the pins in the dock connector.
Funny, I had the right password all along..except for some reason I had put a "b" on the end...never would have remembered that!!!
I want to THANK everyone who had a hand in this, especially Victor for writing it and putting it out here for all of us. THANK-YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

Kengngee,
Thanks for sending us the dump. Sadly, there are not many like you.

Hi all,
Do give support to ALLservice by forwarding dumps after your success. That is the least one can do to show appreciation. I was hesitating too, wondering what Victor and gang want to do with the dumps; they must have collected hundreds of them. But, I still sent. I will also pass forward what kindness I get from people who reply to my mails. I would reply to whoever ask for my experience acquired.
Cheers. |
