Hello!

Has anyone ever seen a "-" symbol used in thinkpad password? I used tools to read password from a T30, and the password seems to be "'K-fMLKf" How can i type the "-" symbol at password prompt, pressing lower right key does not display a dot in password window..

Any ideas?

"-" is not a valid character. AA button does the magic there.

I guess I am getting tired to explain over and over again Rolling Eyes

. The password is at 0x338 and 0x340 in scancode that can be seen in translation mode, not in normal view.

Hm,

T30 is not using passphrase and TCPA encryption. I hope the chip was well read because IBMpass will show the correct password all the time.

Yeah, I know about the AA button. but this is the revealed password.
I have read eeprom twice. same result..

The dump you send is from 2656-51G which is R30, not T30...

The password is in alternate scancode "EKSPRES". Nothing special, the dump is normal for R30 series.

Keep in mind that a TP password is always up to 7 characters.
