I have put together the resistors and diodes as explaned to me in the forums and I have tested my wire with the test in the r24rf08 program all seems fine and everytime I hook up to the Eprom and run the test I get the same message saying cannot complete circuit or bus error.I have read and read for days am about to give up I seach this forum and many others only to find no answers or help to tyhis problem.I may have been in the wrong place but I sure would appreciate it someone could help me out with this problem or just at least give me a few ideas. It would be more than greatly appreciated thank you very much. |

What do you mean, no answer or help to this problem? We tried to help everybody here!
For example I can't guess what is your problem, you have to provide more information. I said this so may times, if you want us to be ABLE to help you tell us more!
-What is the laptop model;
-What circuit you build;
-Pictures with the circuit/setup, including eeprom and port connections;
-Some info about your PC configuration both hardware and software;
-Anything you may consider usefull. _________________ Victor Voinea

what I meant is i tried to figure this out by myself for days but realize I am not going to so I am asking for help.My thinkpad model is a T21 the circuit I put together was the the simple one that came with the r24rf08 zip file .I have located the chip it is the 14 pin r24rf08ct in the memory compartment on the back. I attach the leads to what I believe is the #8 and the #10 that would be the SDA to #8 and SDL to # 10 I power up the TP and let it boot as far as it will to the point of wanting a password then I attached the leads from my other pc which allready has the dos program running and waiting fir me to hit enter then I hit enter after connections are made and the timer starts and then it just says cannot copmplete circuit bos error.I just ahve one small guestion about what I am doing to this point that I dont know if it would make a difference or not but doI have to put in r24rf08ct instead of justy r24rf08 because of the chip diofference? Dont know just thought I would ask.I did use the tester in the zip file also and it shows that I do have 4.6 volts on 1 position and shuits off when on 0.I dont know iof any of this will help you help me but I hope so./Again I didnt mean to point any fingers at anyone and I am sorry if you took it that way .Thanks again for what ever help you may be able to provide me. |

-Laptop model?
-Pictures?
-PC hardware/software specs?

What? R24RF08 is the executable name, do you think to change it to match the eeprom?
R24RF08 is the software - 24RF08 is the eeprom. No matter the suffix is still the same eeprom.
Itester must show both SDA&SCL out and SDAin having the same value, for example, when SDA/SCLouts are 1 the SDAin must be 1 and so forth. If not, the circuit is wrong.
---When itester shows 1,
-the SCL must have 5.1V exaclty. If not the zener ain't good.
-SDA must have between 4.0-4.8V
---when itester shows 0:
Bothe SCL and SDA must show -(negative) 0.6V
The resitors have to be 2.2KOhms, the color code is red, red ,red. Diodes have polarity ,etc. Without pictures, doesn't make sense to explain here what to do.. _________________ Victor Voinea

I am going to rebuild my circuit later today and hope that it will help fix my problem.I did use the right resistors so evidently they are bad or something else is wrong .Like i said I will purchase new diodes and resistors just as I did before and we,ll see what happens.Hopefully the end results will be better.I will try and get some pics for you if I continue to need help.And about the executable file I realized that after I had sent that posting so yes it was pointless.As far as the three red bands which are on the resistors I have and I know they will be on the new ones too.But as far as where they go ,from what I could see or read or what ever of the diagrams that were distributed for us the people trying unlock our systems .They appeared to go in line the same direction in both the sda and scl line going outr is this correct? and the diode s which were Zener 5.1 v go the same direction also after the resisters between them and where the tie into the ground ? Is this correct?I dont know why I get the wromg voltage I have the right voltage on the SDA but I am low on the SCL hopefully when i rebuild this circuit it will help.Thanks again Victor,I do appreciate the help .Oh yeah I think I did mention that this was on a IBM Thinkpad model T21.As far as I software I am not real sure it has been locked as lomg as I have had it outsige of Windows XP Pro I dopnt know .Has dvd rom with an exchangleable floppy .I believe that it has only what IBM installed on it and I see that that seems to varie even if they are the same model so I have very little info on this.Allright I will let you know how things go and hopefiully I will only have to bother you to give you good news and I womt need to pester you with more questions THANKS Have A good ONE !!!!! |
