I have built both circuts last week had made a simple one on a bread board and it tested to be working fine with my tech pc but never read the eprom so this week i built a driven on the bread board and a simple one just soldered right off the 9 pin adapter . neither one of them had any voltage when tested so if figured my tech pc has a problem with the com ports (figured board was going not a big deal ) but in here lies the problem I tried the itester program on two other laptops I have unfortantly they both run win98se and discoverd that the itester doesnt work not sure about the other programs as of yet but the error i get is that windows has caused a fatal error in kernal blah blah blah is there somthing i am doing wrong or does the itester only work on xp ??? |

The itester needs rscom.dll! Both files, itester and rscom.dll must be in the same folder. _________________ Victor Voinea

Of course, you need directX 7.0 at least, but I don't think that is the source of the probelm. itester has incorporated an antidebug routine for protection. I think your system could have a virus that affects the way this software works, or another program is trying to change the execution code. _________________ Victor Voinea

ok think that is the problem with two 98 system prob didnt have the direct x 7. not a problem i found out my simple programer was not wired properly and got it work (for my 770 with password block) but now I am having troubles with my driven programer i built it with 1. Uf capasitors so I managed to get the .01 uf capasitors today but still comes up and says that bus error or circuit not there here lies the question does the driven need to be conected to the laptop and powered to make the program see the circuit or can it be seen as I have been testing by just running the program hooked up to circuit with out the laptop or power from AA batterys

I tried the f1 key at boot up but it does nothing it does mem count the two errors 161 and 163 time and date errors but then jumps right to a password lock with picture of computer on it i took out cmos battery and did f1 but same result
any ideas
oh the simple programer tests out good in between 3.3 and 5 on both leads and my solder on my atmel chips are good and solid |

I hope you used R24C01 not R24RF08. For the old models based on 24C01 better to use the driven circuit, because the SMbus impedance is to low and SIPROG can't manage with it.
You may try this:
Open R24C01.ini and change base_address=$00. The program will sort out the eeprom location. |
