Well done to Victor who has saved lots of people money. Very Happy
I seem to have done something to my A31.
Since i soldered the wires onto the amtel chip the screen will not work & no beeps. keyboard doesn't work either.
I thought I'd try & recover the password anyway & bingo, like one of the previous posts the password is SUPPORT! (so the Amtel chip is still working)
Any ideas on what I may have done?
I removed both the battery pack & the CR2022 battery backup overnight - could this have caused it?
Checked onboard fuses - ok, main board has 5v & 3.3v & 15v (disk spins up ok)
connected external screen - nothing
I dont have a POST card so i'm not sure how far thru the POST it is going.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for you kindness.
I think there could be a problem with the SB Intel 82801. Is possible that SMbus or other IO ports to be damaged, especially if you used SIPROG and the zeners are not 5.1V.
But I still guess there is a problem with the power regulators or some MOSFET drivers, especially on the 3.3V outputs, sounds similar like the stanrd PG (power good) signal issue.

Do you got 3.3V on the eprom too?

I have checked all the fuses & the CPU gets hot if i leave it on too long.
Does Anyone have any ideas what else i should check? Confused
