SVP is not set, only blanks between 0x338-0x33E.

Remove the CMOS battery or the drive.

hello,

My t41 is locked. I work in a professional electronic shop. we have all tools to desolder 24rf08 and I've got a universal programmer ELNEC. This programmer could read 24rf08. could I used it without risk to lose the contents of the memory? or must I used RRF2408 and build your interface.

thanks in advance. philippe

I could only suggest you to use R24RF08, and do not unsolder the eeprom. R24RF08 has a routine that allows the eeprom to be reset, after it was read by the BIOS without the need to be repowered, so no unsoldering it is necessary.

Could someone give me an suggestions?
Simple Circuit. Tester switches from 0 to 1 without the ground connected to pin5, but only SDA/SCL Out switches from 0 to 1 SAD in stays at 0 when i connect ground to pin 5.

Any Suggestions?

Problem has been fixed. to anyone else having problems, make sure you are reading the schematics correctly as the Zeners have to be a certain direction when you solder them on.

Thanks Victor for your great site and generous time and information.

Did the driven circuit and get problems, build the simple one, still issues, moved to a different machine on the simple cct and it worked first time!!!

IBM T40 off ebay, 1 year worked fine then locked up.

SERVICE (how did I not guess this!)

Q. Thinking of using USB 5V to power the driven device 4.5v vs 5 volts?
Different resistors? thinking of a 5 volt regulator in the cct to avoid suprises, what do you think...

Cheers

Hi Dragonfly,

USB 5V is fine as long is not exceeding it, np.

Better to use the batteries because the chip is powered at about 3.3V and can tolerate up to 5V, no more.

Cheers

HELLO victor,

Thanks for this great forum i have discovered few days ago !

I have a X31 type 2673.
Just want to recover the supervisor pass.

BUT,
The ship is an "ATMEL 422 93C46 SI27A", 8 pins.

My two questions are :

Do i have to use the same reader as for ATMEL 24RF08 ?
How do i recognized the slc and sda on the ship ?

Thanks a lot.

Gbs

Hi mate,

X31 uses 24RF08, as stated in the tutorial.

Best of luck!

Tks Bob for your reply.

But.. is it the same (24RF08) even if it's written

ATMEL 422
93C46
SI27A

on it ?

If so.. it's great !

Tks,

Gbs.

I think Bob wanted to tell you to focus on the 24RF08 and forget the 93C46. See the picture Bob linked in his previous post.
