Hi i have change the bios chip on my t40
the laptop look to work but the screen its still black could some one can help me with this

Why do you think you have to change the BIOS chip?

And when you have graphics problems with a T40, the usual cause is unfortunately a mainboard defect (graphics chip BGA connections) that is - put mildly - "not simple" to fix. Search for "T40" and "flexing" with Google for more information.

if you changed bios chip and it wont boot

check bios chip fitted correct polarity ie pin 1 corresponds to polarity mark on board

no solder opens or shorts

possible inop chip refit old bios chip

I think you have a problem with you back light of your laptop monitor(LCD).

I've seen it many times. If you say the laptop starts and you donn't see anything on screen than it must be it.
