Can anybody help me with decoding last character of password?
NB IBM T43, eeprom Atmel 24RF08CT
"25 12 31 20 17 2e 12 df"
I seems that password is "KENDICE ", but I don't know how to type last character. What ASCII code is correct for "df" in SCANCODE?
Thanks

T43 doesn't have 24rf08, if that is indeed a T43 (with original stickers on the back) then the board is from a t42 or other previous model.
The password is "kendice" as it always must be up to 7 characters. The rest doesn' t count |

I have replied to all your emails yesterday, explaining to you that you have a HD password.
"kendice" is the SVP, you hit enter and get an OK, then it asks for another one which is the HDP: replace the drive or ask someone to unlock it with the right tools. _________________ Victor Voinea

Hi Victor,
It wasn't me who sent you an emails. It was my friend. We both trying to find solution how to pass through SVP.
I think, that we have problem only with SVP, not with HDP. HDP has different icon than SVP.
Notebook displays only SVP icon and after first attempt to enter password, there is two more chance to enter password. After 3 attemps we have to reboot notebook.
After we enter password for first, we don't get "OK", but another try to type the password.
It seems that the HDD is not locked - in other notebook it runs without password.
We tried to remove HDD from NB and with same result.
What do you think, clearing password in .bin file and uploading to EEPROM can fix this issue?
Thanks a lot

Remove the CMOS battery to clear up the power on password. Then use "kendice" (which is really the SVP) to log in to BIOS setup and set the date&time and that is it.
The CMOS battery is held with a screw under the main battery. _________________ Victor Voinea
