Hi!
I've just bought an ibm x31 last day, builded the simple i2c programmer, read the eprom, and finally i disabled the pasword.
The problem is, that the laptop requests the password after that
So the first password was this:
And now this is in the eprom:
What is the failure? I can't understand... |

That is the power on password POP, that you've forgotten to disable. In general, by removing the POP and SVP all together, you should go with the POP first. No need to know the POP, type in the SVP instead, this will disable the POP too.
Now, since you deleted the SVP, the only way is to remove the back-up 3 V cell to clear the CMOS.
