I just need a little info...

I have heard that some windows sw reserves the com1 and I have read so many other things what the problem could be I dont even know what to think anymore. Im going crazy pulling my hair out and doing backflips.

If anyone could help me I swear Ill give free server space and 2 or 3 free domains If you help me resolve this..(free for life)

Im getting this error....
-----------------------------------------
Initializing timer...13224 OK!
ERROR: Eeprom not available!

------------------------------------------

Now could this meen bad wiring? a com1 error? or something more simple? Any help would be great and Ill reward any help I can get.

Im sure this has been asked thousands of times but Im lost here.

Thanks in advance.

I'll be curious to see how many of our forum users will hurry up to help you.

Now, this help is for free anyway:

1. Could be a port issue, but the "eeprom not found error" comes up after the program finds the interface. A quick test is to unplug the device and run the program w/o it. If the error changes into "Circuit not found or buss error", then one thing is clear - the serial port worked.

2. What circuit did you set up? is the driven programmer or the SIPROG (simple programmer)?

3. I need to see some pictures with the setup, including the eeprom connections, what laptop model is it, btw?

You may post the pictures here or email to our support (at) allservice (d0t) ro

I can't help you , by just seeing those unfocused pictures, I couldn't even distinguish the diodes or how the DB9 is wired...Really, try with another camera or use the macro mode.

I was using the driver i2c circuit and I also got yhe same error as EEPROM not found. What I found out that if you do not have good contacts to eeprom pins the you get this message. Once I got good contatcs I was able to read without any problem.
