Here is the screenshot of the dump I made on my T42p.

Can someone advise what to do? It looks nothing like any password I have ever used.

Thanks.

Hello,

The password is passphrased (TCPA) and IBMpass can't reveal that.
You need the TCPA reset service and W24RF08 license.
TCPA reset - $25
Writer license - $30

You may download W24RF08 from www.allservice.ro/store/utils , install and see register.doc for payment details. We also need this document filled out with your data and the hardware ID shown by the program.

My hard drive is locked with the same password. Will the reset procedure allow me to access my hard drive again?

Really, how do you know that?

Anyway, the answer is no. The TCPA reset is only for the system, the SVP password is not retrievable, that's why we called it a "reset". The HD password is stored in the HD and is encrypted too.

If is indeed the same password as the SVP, it may be unlocked with a special version of KeyON (HD Security Tools) using the SVP hash, but that is not avialable yet, Victor still works at it...

When I was setting the passwords for my bios and hd, I chose the same phrase. When I reboot the system, it didn't recognize it so here I am trying to figure out what went wrong.

Out of curiosity, do you know what the maximum length limit for the password? I recall typing in a pretty long phrase (about 14 characters) and it accepted it at the moment I was setting it.

With passphrase on, the password can be up to 64 chars long and may contain spaces
