Hello,
First of all, thank you all for this wonderful forum. I think its awesome for you guys to help out people like this. Now I'm hoping you can help me out. A friend of mine purchased a 2nd hand Thinkpad X200 Tablet. Unfortunately, it has the supervisor password enabled. Can any one here tell me if the techniques on this website will also work on an X200? Any idea if it uses a 24RF08 or PC8394? Or am I in luck and there is a simpler way of resetting the SVP?
Thank you!

No, there's no simpler way.
I am not sure if X200 uses 24RF08 (clone) or a TPM storage, personally I vouch for the eeprom since x300 has it. Would be nice if you dismantle this little toy and email us some pictures of the motherboard, both sides in quadrants.
Any software needed will be free for you, as a small consideration for your help.
Our email is support-at-allservice-dot-ro, and please put "victor" in subject line.
You may find the HMM usefull in this process:

Awesome! Will do. What resolution do you want the photos at?

I have built the I2c Simple programmer interface and used it on this model which has a NXP P24S08 J7 38 n6832 (8-pin) chip. Which is easily located and easily accessed. Although I have the .bin dump which does not show the password. (Yes I tried scancode on/off and alternate scancode). I have tried 5 different dumps at different times, i.e. Svp screen, Hd password screen, typed in the "assumed password according to the dump" and then did another dump and still no go. I used the usual reader r24rf08. Thought it could be a low voltage type issue so, beings that the ground wire from the Pin to the I2c was very small, I ran a ground from I2c board to the locked laptop. So I assume it must have a different algorythm or a different TPM security or passphrase is enabled. Not sure but I hope Victor will help me out. I will post pictures shortly. Got any questions on "how to" for this model, then ask away. If someone has any recommendations for me to try, let me know please. Also I can read the serial number and my customers information, in the .bin, just not the password(so some of the decodeing worked, right?). Thanks.
Now to send Victor an email. |

Got your emails and replied already.
We did the X200 some months ago, this was an older topic here and, yes, it uses the same eeprom and everything.
Just for the forum records, we did the X200, X301, R400, T400 too, we'll update the picutures as soon as possible. When the passphrase is off, IBMpass would reveal the passoword in all cases.
When it's set, well, would be the TCPA lock. _________________ Victor Voinea

To explain more precisely - position of SCL and SDA pins on the motherboard. Sorry for my previous lazy description. |
