Hi All

I have a ibm t30 that is SVP locked i have used the simple-i2cprog circuit and 24RF08 to get the .bin, retrieved the password using the ibmpass21.
Which all worked like a dream great Smile but then when i try to use the password which is RAINBOW i am still locked out by the T30. I get the error messages for resetting time and date and that the t30 have been tampered with on enter the f1 bios option which i was expecting because i am using the SVP. I have looked around on the forum but there does not appear to be anyone with the same problem any help would be great.

Cheers

Enter in BIOS, set the date time and save,
If the HD is locked too (the icon changes to a cylinder+padlock), type again the SVP, if doesn't work remove the drive to be able to enter in BIOS.
Drive's passwords can be removed using HD security tools, but for a T30 is cheaper to buy another one.

Good luck

That’s the problem i cannot enter the BIOS even with the password!
Ok heres where i am.

1. Got the password from .bin file starting at 0x338 it is RAINBOW.
2. Boot up T30 and press F1 for BIOS settings.
3. After a while get presented with a little white box within box image with a pad lock next to it.
4. Enter in RAINBOW in upper and lower case either two is followed by a cross appearing next to the flashing curser.
5. After 3 goes i get the locked hand image.
6. After reading your email i pulled out the hard drive and rebooted the t30 but i was presented with the same steps as 2 to 5.

I am just not sure what to do now as all my knowledge about this is from your great service forum Smile.

Cheers
