You need a working battery, that's the problem with all flashers.
And is correct to be like that, since the AC power may drop right when you update the BIOS and you risk to brick the laptop.

On seconf thoughts, some flashing programs respond to some (un)documented parameters, that may override the battery check. See if you can find them in some ini files

You may use Uniflash, I belive it will work for this old model. All you need is a full ROM image, hopefully you may find it on the floppy created by ACER utilities

The version I have is here: www.allservice.ro/store/uf137.rar, copy the program and the rom dump on a DOS bootable disk and try on.

Good luck!

thanks iam sucesfully flashed to a new bios and new problem were created , new bios ucover real proccessor model ,there is Pentium 3/900Mhz instead 700mhz (reported by old bios) .New bios still doesnt support yet. Big problem is that bios cannot boot because this end with error message CPU IS DOESNT MATCH WITH MOTHERBOARD and coputer automatically shuts down.,, ahh I must change cpu to lower model and update steeping code and again come back 900mhz pentium and believe for success

One solution is possible for me , intergrate steppings from file to bios binary file and than flash modified bios through bootblock , question is How integrate steppings from file to bios binary file ?? its really possible?

To edit the processor table is one thing, but to set the correct checksums and ACPI table would be the hard job.
Isn't any other Acer model close enough to this one that supports the processor in question?
