Hi All,
New here and not quite sure of all the rules yet.
Over the next few days if it is permitted i will post instructions on how to remove dell bios password locks.
If it is permitted i will also uploaad pictures to where the eeprom is located.
All the dells that will be listed, I have personally unlocked using this method, so please do not ask me on other models as i have not tried to crack them.
There is no eeprom reading/writing,no soldering, just a simple bridge and your done.
But please be warned, you do this at your own risk

All DELL's I guess you refer have a 24Cxx eeprom that can be simply read and the password decoded with IBMpass.

If you talk about the "shorting method" or "paper clip", save it. We will not allow that to be posted here and if you ask us.. well, that is stupid. An eeprom must be read not shorted or any other newbie "engineering".

Thank you otherwise

Yes do not short.

Just use a Dell Bios Upgrade CD.

Not the one to upgrade the Bios Ver#.

But the Dell technical CD.

It will let you erase the bios and re-enter your service tag#!!!

Works on most C-series, D-series,M-series and a few others.

Good luck.

Of ocurse, but this will work only for the BIOS password, not when the System password is set. You have to read the eeproms and use IBMpass, the pass is in scancode.

You may use it only if the system password is not set (you can boot the machine).

1. Create a bootable USB mem stick and boot the Dell laptop using it.
2. Note down the service tag shown by the application, then erase the eeprom and write the same service tag again. That's all.

If you cannot boot due to password lock (System password), then you gotta read the 24C04 eeprom, somebody already posted a picture up here. Good luck!
