To Victor and Bob: don't you sometimes get a little tired of saying the same things again and again to people who can't read a schematic or build a simple electronic circuit? In the meantime, I've built the SiProg several times, the powered interface with a breadboard and also with an etched printed circuit board. All worked without problems - and I'm not an electronics engineer, or someone with lots of experience making electronic circuits. I just read what you write and look at the excellent diagrams - that's plenty enough information.
I've followed the various discussions and questions over the past year or so, and am really amazed to see how many people have problems with such simple interfaces. The errors range from using the wrong components (although these are explicitly stated) to connecting the serial port wrong (as a mirror image). Always the same problems, it seems.
At any rate, I admire your patience and wish you much success. |

Yes, you're right, people use to have problems doing "simple" things all the time, that doesn't bother me. If someone needs help, why not?
