Hi
I've got from customer dead Toshiba A110-133 after BIOS upgrade, customer said thath it hang when upgrading. I've found 24c16 eeprom on motherboard but i don't have an image file to write. I found only *.rom file from producer site but as i know it has different headers than *.bin file. Does anybody have that Bios image in *.bin file or know how to convert from *.rom to *.bin format. I don't have any programer that support's *.rom files, only *.bin or *.e2p
Best Regards Slaby6

Dear Slaby6,

There is no such thing as ROM or BIN format. Those are just arbitrary extension names, they could be named .DOC as well ( and that would be fun).

Now, it seems like the BIOS chip need to be flashed with a a good dump. The eeprom 24C16 is not the BIOS, you should check around for a serial or parallel flash ( I belive is a parallel as this is an old junk).
But the main problem is to obtain the correct dump, because those that usually come from a manufacturer are compressed.
So go ahead and search the flash chip, if you post some pictures we could point you out in the right direction Smile
