new programming interface
would be nice if someone developed a nice usb programmer instead of everything being serial or parallel

personally i am in the field all day and i carry a laptop... most modern laptops lack these ports and the port replicators aren't supported in most software... hence a "NATIVE COM1"

theres no way i would ever consider bringing my desktop to sites(bulky)

this is more of a rant and a request

by the way any pics of the new SPEG interface?

Hi,

We use here some serial PCcards or Xpresscards, they are quite cheap (I bought one for $10) and are based on UART which make no difference from the built-in ports.
USB interfaces is an idea, but we were not happy with all the cheap solution we have tested and those that worked add some value to the final product which we considered inopportune.

We will post some pictures with the actual interface for SPEG.

any chance of links to some of the monsters? these also work with the 24RF08 Tools and PC8394 Tools interface? and would the key be linked to the interface card or the actual pc hardware id?

We offer support via email regarding commercial software. I know that the pictures were emailed to you already.

Cheers

i would rather use a card brand that has been tested rather than trial and error

Hi,

Any card that is based on UART is good. You may find them on various websites, geeks.com, ebay, etc.

Here is SPEG interface ready to go.

i see in the pic there is a +3V LED indicator... does this run off 4.5v(3xAA) or 3V(2xAA)
or is it similar to your other interface +3V/5V (an acceptable V range)

The interface has on board LM 3.3V regulator to supply itself and the flash. It runs on USB or 3xAA or can be supplied by in-system flash at 2.7-3.3V, etc.
