|
|
Hi,
Now, I have 2 machines that have the same model name as 7755A19(R61).
One is 'GOOD machine', the other is "BAD machine" that is showing '192 error'.
In this case, are there any ways to fix the error ?
For instance, replacing the BIOS of bad machine with the one of good machine or modifying the BIOS ?
Thanks. |

@Reo51st: Nope, no way...this is not a TP600
JD,
Since the laptop has 0192, then two things happened:
1. Someone replaced the original BIOS and the signature was lost.
2. TCPA chip is not working or replaced. - Here we saw many times TCPA chips being bricked by people trying to remove TCPA lock by flashing wrong dumps.
If you have the orignal BIOS, we can work it out if TCPA chip is still working. But if you want to do it using the other board's components, then replace BIOS flash (or just flash the other code in it) and AT97SC3203 from the working one.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the information.
I have some questions as below.
Is the TCPA chip 'AT97SC3203' ?
Can I solve it if I copy another BIOS and replace AT97SC3203 with 'brand new one' at the same time ?
Thanks again. |

No. BIOS and TCPA chip AT97SC3203 are pairing up.
We are working to find a solution to neuter the TCPA signature in BIOS. Once neutered, the machine will start functioning with foreign BIOS or TCPA chip.

Problem solved, we were able to neuter TCPA sig in BIOS code and get rid of 0192, without changing hardware parts. Tested on T60, T61 and now on your R61.
Thank you JD. _________________ Victor Voinea

Hi, have 0192 error appearing when power supply was plugged in just as the OS was going into sleep mode from low battery. Saw your post here that BIOS that is TCPA neutral could resolve the problem. This was the first time, and it recovered with a reboot. Does this mean it could come back under the same conditions? Also where could the BIOS you described above be acquired? |

I think for the moment you don't need it. The BIOS mod costs $25, you must read the BIOS and send it to us for being patched. _________________ Victor Voinea

Ok, so this is a service you provide. Seems like I saw a note from someone about downloading the Bios, so I'll look into it. Would this also work for a T60? Have two of those. Would I need to pay 25 bucks per machine? |
