Hi,

I have a Dell notebook VOSTRO 1500 that is locked with password.
(Service Tag is DY68FBX)

I tried to find a chip like '24rf08' or 'PC8394T' but I couldn't.

Please let me know on how to find it or clear the password.

Hello,
this model and others don't have an eeprom on the motherboard, it's said that the password is stored in smsc mec5004 chip or similar, but the problem is that the datasheet is not available for download from smsc or anywhere else. For now the only known solution is to contact Dell and provide proof of ownership (if it's out of warranty you may have to pay a fee), or search eBay where there are many sellers that will sell you the master password for about $48 US dollars.
