hi everyone, this is my first post.
I have a problem whit a laptop IBM thinkpad t22. Let me tell you what happened.
a friend gave me this laptop to format it, but i couldn't because the laptop asked me a password to change settings in the bios. so i couldn't change boot device priority.
So i tough i can reset the password by takking off the bios battery. it was worse, the system ask me for the supervisor password, only 3 tries and i can't access even to windows
with that surprise, i ask google for some answer. I'm latin american, so i first looked for answer in spanish pages. i got no answer, they only told me to change motherboard.
unsatisfied, i toke my english dictionary and look for an answer on English forums, and tadah, i found a method for hacking the atmel eeprom in a blog of someone.
the problem is that me and my friend did it wrong. The blog said that we have to solder the wires to the eeprom, but then it said that we have to conect it when we were asked for the password. We didn't understand it very well so with some doubts we made it.
We make the reader circuit, acording to it said, and as we didn't if we have to solder or solder it when asked for the password. (of course it sounds ridiculus to solder it whete the laptop is working). so my friend took the reader wires and i wrote the comand line in windows shell on my PC.
When the Laptop asked us for the password, my friend connected the wires to the eeprom and i hit Enter.
"Error, unable to read eeprom" or something like that
so i restart the laptop and my friend held the wires connected to the eeprom. because he's nervous, he moved the wires.
I'm not an expert but i think he made a short circuit.
Now, when we turn on the laptop there is an error message:
"Error
0175: bad CRC1, stop post task"
and it stays like that for hours, (personally, i waited for 3 hours and nothing)
Could you please tell me if it's possible to fix it or maybe i have to buy another laptop
I'm really going crazy with this laptop.
greetings... |

Hello,
It can be fixed, but you must purchase the eeprom writer. And you gotta read the eeprom first off, becasue we need to fix the original data.
I suggest you to read the tutorial up-here:
