Hi!

The eeprom is so small, that I can't do the soldering. Do I trust someone else to do it, or is there another way? If I can use pins, then where should I try to put the pins? It's an 8 legged eeprom, if that helps any?

If there are holes in the mobo that I can use the pins for, then please tell me where?

Thank you!

Actually...that reader does work with your software, I just had to add the /x /d /i

Now the only problem is, on lines 0x330 and 0x340 it reads R = R =

I will never ever buy a used thinkpad ever again!!!! They should take IBM/Lenovo computers off ebay, craigslist and any other list unless owner provides complete detail and would be responsible if he or she is not up front about a freaking password that will pop up months later after the sale.

PM Bob or me a link or better email the dump at support-at-allservice.ro to take a look at it.

Finally I have the help I need, and hopefully I can get this over with and start using this piece of crap again. It's actually a nice computer, but what I've gone through just makes me feel sick.

Thank you Victor!

Victor is a freaking genius!!!!

My laptop was TCPA locked. So I gladly sent the money for a license, and the registration for the reader and Victor sent me that stuff ASAP!

He made it easy for me, by already having both .bin files I would need to write back to my eeprom. I was nervous, but it was just as simple as reading the eeprom, I just didn't want to make any mistakes.

Holy Cow!

I'm actually using my notebook now, you rule Victor!!!!!

Very happy customer!! Very Happy

Just in case you were wondering how I read the eeprom, since I have no soldering skills whatsoever, here is how.

I just took some old motherboard cables and connectors, 1 twin and 1 single used for ground. I connected 2 x twin connectors together, so I would have twin female connectors on opposite ends. I then took a mainboard pin out plug, and took/pulled two pins from it, so I can place them into the one side of the twin female connectors, while the other end was plugged into the reader. As you can see from the picture, they are the perfect width apart to hold against the SCL and SDA pins.

That is about as simple as it gets folks! Those are free parts from a computer store, or something that you just have laying around from all your computer tinkering. No soldering!
