Do I enter that when it asks for the password? Cause I have done that and it says invalid password. But thank you for taking the time to try to help anyway.
As soon as the sony powers on and the sony logo disappears. There is a blue box in the middle of the screen. And it says enter password, within the box. Unfortunately i can get no further. All attempts to get beyond this have failed. Do you happen to have any other ideas?

The serial numbers are not invalid then.
Open it up and search for the eeprom. You may open a separate topic on that if you want.

turn on the laptop and press the ESC key every second, in some BIOSes it shows additional information, usually on the last lines appears the serial number.

Thank you so much Disabled! I have the serial number it is 4213269.
pressing the escape key repeatedly kept the screen up long enuff to read the serial number.
Again the model # PCG-8A4L
and the serial is 4213269

Try 6669967 for master password.
yeah, CTRL + C didn't worked, then I noticed the error.

If you got a "ONE TIME" response code like 4x4 or 5x4 alphanumericals, then don't bother postin here because the generator we all have is not working for these, at least for the moment.
Save our time (and yours) and check that prior posting
