If this is a "one time code" SONY, then don't come back here to complain...
Code would be 7821728

Nope, not a "one time code", just a bios pass. I had a refrbd sony hdd go bad and am installing new hdd and need to change boot order to disc so I can install windows. I don't remember (cant remember setting) bios pass. If refrbd hdd weren't bad I'd just image old hdd to new (& ignore bios pass) but that's not going to happen with my new paper weight.

7821728 didn't work. (but if I ever need a one time code, I guess I have one now)

Can I just pull the battery, or move jumper to clear cmos? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

One time code like XXXX or XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX is only valid one time (naturally) and it resets itself after each power cycle, we belive that is based on time/date stamp, or maybe it is simply randomized at each POST.
The generator we have does work for PCG models and a few VGNs but is not working for one time codes yet. You have been warned (see this thread da capo).
I can't really keep tracking who's getting a one time code and who's not, there's too many models and variants.
If the code is not good, the solution is to read the eeprom inside - usually a 24C02 -and decode with IBMpass.

Buffator, your code is 7811110. Oh, and sue Sony if this doesn't work...
