|
|
Hi guys,
I have managed to dump the contents of the eeprom but it appears that the scancodes inside are enrypted, or at least they fail to revert to any logical character combination.
eeprom - 24RF08.
Here is the link:
http://tchorbadjiev.com/eeprom.zip
I have enabled the `passphrase vs. password` option and the security chip.
Can anyone help? |

It is TCPA encrypted. We have done it before for t42 w/o problems. The dump will suffer some modifications then you have to reprogram the eeprom.
Please contact me by email |

TCPA is not a problem but a "plague" of today's world.
Writing the eeprom is easy if you use W24RF08. |

Everybody,
today I have managed to write the EEPROM back (as per Victors instructions) and everything worked perfect !
----------------------------------------------------------------
Initializing timer...16319 OK!
Eeprom dump size: OK
Page mode. Writing eeprom...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Done.
----------------------------------------------------------------
My TP had the ultra-fancy-junk-TCPA-chip enabled, passphrase etc. - and here is the result - a fully usable laptop again.
IBM security rulez !
Serious, thank you Victor - for the assistance and professionalism.
Cheers |

Hi,
If IBMpass cannot reveal the password (if not blank) then it is encrypted with TCPA chip for sure. Unfortunatelly, this service is not free.
Please contact us to support-at-allservice.ro and send also the dump to verify.
Indeed, 0176 error occured when you removed the CMOS batt. You'll get rid of that when you'll be able to enter BIOS setup, after reprogramming the eeprom.

You need the writer but the TCPA removal service is not free eighter.
Read carefully the W24RF08 download section.
Else, licensing and other related issues will be dicussed in private.
