Hi folks and a happy New year to all.
I'm new on this forum and together needing help, also to introduce myself.
Username "JAY-T" AKA Jeremy
anyway I'm from the UK.
My problem is that I have two IBM TP T20's both with SVP's and R40 with SVP on it. Both the R40 and 1x T20 does'nt have hard drive installed. the second T20 is a machine I have had from new.
The reason this one has a password on it was I bought a replacement motherboard for it as the original refused to bootup.
This replacement board (has an SVP) I was told this from the ebay seller.
I have bought the other two TP's again from an ebey seller, so that I can install vehicle diagnostics on them. This will be a new line of work for me.
All three laptops need the SVP's removing. I have built the serial cable and attached the wires. I have followed the instuctions shown on the site.
The eeproms read but all (000) in IBMpass2.1
even with the Aa button press
can anyone help or shed any light.
regards

Hi Victor. Yeah I'm no clairvoyant also. I have tried and rechecked all my work with the cable and re-read alot of posts regarding bad GND's and so on.
No joy, the dump file does create but when opened in ibmpass2.1 there is just no infomation to read other than zero's and blank fields.
I would understand if the laptops are from a unknown source (hence not willing to aid possible hot machines) but they are from a trader that deals in salvage IT stock (end of use). Hence no harddrives.
I will keep trying

You can't upload them here, just link them with imageshack or else. Or email them at our support@ address. _________________ Victor Voinea
