Hey guys,
I have a IBM Thinkpad A21E 2628 that boots with a CRC1 0175 error. I've scoured the internet for ways to fix this problem and have finally found my way here

Now ive had a bit of a read but basically wanted to ask what i will need to do to fix my problem if it is fixable that is?

Thanks Flashy

Yes it is.

To correct the error you have to do the following:
1. download R24RF08 and W24RF08 that are eeprom reader/writer
2. install both of them and read the documents found in the install folder. You'll see there 2 diagrams. Choose one of them to build the interface to read the 24RF08 eeprom
3. dismantle the laptop, search the 8 pin eeprom (marked U34) and solder 3 wires to GND, SCA and SCL pin. assemble back and read the eeprom following the procedure described in the tutorial (readme.pdf)
4. Send us the dump to correct at support-at-allservice.ro. We will analyze it and replace the bad checksums.
5. Finally, you have to write the corrected dump (received from us) to the chip, using W24RF08.

There is a little problem, the writer license is $30 and only one CRC correction is free. But we think this is the best we can, to help people in your situation.

Greetings

Sorry to bring up old topics
but just letting ya know it all worked for me.
Had a few problems at first kept getting the "Circuit not Found or Bus Error"
couldn't work out what was wrong i examined the circuit really closely and found pin 8 hadnt been hooked up. got out me trusty battery powered soldering iron hooked it up and it worked straight away.

Thanks for the great product will send the money and registration once its transferred to moneybooker

Just to say that Victor and his team are great. They have developed this working technique and it sure is fun to do. It makes you feel more important because you can fix an issue that would require you to trash the motherboard and purchase a new one. Savings are huge!

Thanks,

Jose

A2X have a poor DC/DC design. There are few power controllers and mosfets that can make the difference.

Here is a weird question. I have a T23 laptop and recently purchased a motherboard on ebay because the one i have is qwerky and sometimes fires up and sometimes doesnt and freezes. I updated the bios as well and all was good for quite a while but now i had to get a new board and the board i received has a 0175 CRC error. Is it possible to copy the eeprom from the motherboard that freezes as i know its good and dump it on the eeprom that has the 0175 error?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes and no. It depends on machine type, SVP offsets (1 or 2), etc.

The best way is to repair the original. We provide this service free for 1 laptop along with the writer license.
