Was there a hard drive in this T41 before.

You do know that the drive for the T4x series goes in upside down.

It is also best to turn the T4x unit upside down when installing the drive.

It helps to line up the connector and pins whin pushing it in.

Let us know.

The drive may have a blank MBR.

Boot with WIN 98 disk and run fdisk /mbr to clean it up and initiate a MBR record for that drive to be used with DOS/NTFS partitions. Or boot with a WINXP CD enter in repair console and run fixmbr then create partitions with diskpart utility.

If you want to setup WINXP from a DOS drive then execute winnt.exe from i386 folder.

Hopefully that helps

Hi.
Thanks very much.... I will try. See you .... Mirka
P.S.
I insert the HDD in to a Siemens Lifebook . Installed Windows XP it works fine without anny problems.
XP has all drivers for Siemens .. It comes up WITH sound and graphik . !! No need for installing Intel chip driver, Audio driver ,Ati graphik driver etc.
OK . so far.
Than back to reparplace ..erased partition made new partition with Paragon Partition Manager . Insert the HDD to the IBM mashine... installed XP.....it worked .....
Problem is solved ..... best regards Mirka
