24RF08 8 pin SOIC. E..hm, say what? Be sure until the new one will be delivered you have already found the lost one. I know somebody who experienced the same situation, it wasn't a chip but a dog Smile

No, it doesn't work. You need 24RF08 as I said. Or at least PCA 24S08

Can someone tell me the location of the chip on the thinkpad r32? I have searched all over the motherboard board but can't find the 24rf08 chip. The only ATMEL chip I find is a 93C46.

thanks

Confused

It is an 8pin eeprom, located near the PCMCIA cage, on the top of the board.

Yes, I found it! It's covered by plastic between the PCMCIA cage and the hard drive cage. It's going to be hard to get to unless I pull the drive cage.

Thanks Victor!

Very Happy

Hi all,

I have the TP R30 and can only find the 93C46 ATMEL chip. I lifted the plastic to look for the 24c08 between HDD and PCMCIA but it's not there. I have now completely disassembled it but still cannot find a 24c08 chip. Could the 93C46 chip be the one holding the supervisor password?

Thanks Shocked
