An acquaintance of mine that's known for selling odd junk is offering to give me a really good deal on a Thinkpad because it has an unknown Supervisor/BIOS password set.
Having read tutorials on how to obtain the Supervisor Password and having previously honed my soldering skills from installing modchips in Sega Saturn consoles back in my high school days, I'm confident I can handle the task.
However, after researching some more, I've read that there's also a "Hard Disk Password" you have to enter, before booting into the OS I presume, that might be set.
My question is, if a Hard Disk Password is set, could I get around entering it by just buying an entirely new Hard Drive? For reference, the laptop he's trying to sell me doesn't come with a hard drive. |

A hard drive password, when is set, is always stored in the drive.
You won't have to deal with such password if the drive's missing. _________________ Victor Voinea
