I have a Lenovo X200 who's "Security Chip" status says "Inactive" in the BIOS menu.
If I was to pull the CMOS battery backup, would this clear the Supervisor password? Or would it lock me out?
(I'm guessing the Security chip status is irrelevant, and it would lock me out either way, but it doesn't hurt to ask. ) |

Yes, your guess is correct.
CMOS reset will erase POP not SVP. SVP is not recorded in CMOS memory.
with SVP unknown then it will lock you out, cause you have to set time/date in BIOS and without the SVP you can't do that. _________________ Victor Voinea
