I have no idea what you want to unlock, is that a HD coming in an Acer machine?

Sorry Bob- worked late, forgot that info. Rolling Eyes It is an emachine e627. So essentially Acer. I contacted their support, but of course they want me to send it in.

Thank you so much. I actually found the unlockhdd.exe file hidden in a forum elsewhere, created a usb bootable and added the utility to it. Was able to pull the code. Howver, it seems that I will have to put the drive in the original machine and hook that machine to a kvm switch (display and keyboard problems)to get the code to work. Wish me luck and thanks again! You must have the HDD installed in the original laptop in order to obtain a valid code! Then use the code with the online calculator linked above.

Yup, tried it. Still didn't work. - I'm wondering if this hard drive was just thrown in there from another machine. - The laptop has obviously been opened up before.
