I have do one big bad error.

I wanted to remove SVP on R61 of my friend. She forgot it.
She knows only POP.

I did reset cmos by PCCmosClean2.0. After reset , NTB did print some mesage about CMOS checksum error.
After next reset it wants only some password.

Is it SVP? Known POP doesn't works.

I will have any chance to recover SVP by SI-PROG.

Hello,

POP is stored in CMOS that you just wiped out.
Yes, that is the SVP that you need to unlock, in order to get into BIOS and setup a new configuration.

SIPROG is fine if done correclty and the serial port used is a good classic one, otherwise I would suggest the driven interface.

We also have the driven interfaces for sale, quote is $35+$10 shipping.

I didn't tell:
NTB displayes message before CMOS cleaning:
0199 System Security—IBM Security password retry count exceeded.

Now it displayes no message.

That really doesn't matter.

You must read the P24S08 eeprom with R24RF08. If the TCPA lock is inactive, then it will be a straight SVP recovery with IBMpass, otherwise you must order 1xTCPA unlock service along with W24RF08.

I have now the EEPROM data.

But it's locked by TCPA.

Can I send it to your support email?
Can you look at it, if your TCPA unlock service will work?

Hello Victor!

i read yours tutorial on allservice forum - how to unlock Lenovo ThinkPad R61 supervisior password. after many hours i have succesfull dupm EPROM memmory, byt when i open it with IBMPass i only see symbols. i tryied to change "translations" but with no effect.

Your laptop has TCPA lock. Visit www.allservice.ro/store/utils and buy W24RF08 + 1x Additional Service.

You must email us the eeprom dump to clean the certificates and register.doc afterwards.

Not at all, writing is just as simple as reading. You'll use the same interface and the steps are almost indentical, only a different program.

In just a matter of seconds the laptop will be unlocked.
