Hi
someone is willing to sell me a t41 but said the bios and power on is password locked...

after reading this site, I wonder if I should buy this laptop and try to retrive the svp password myself

I have no skill in soldering or whatsoever....is it worth it?

most I am afraid is that i bought the laptop and never be able to get the svp or unlock supervisor....

hate sending a laptop to do it as never know ill get it back or guarantee to work hehe...its like getting your car to shop to get it fixed

That is not such a problem. The big problem is that the laptop could be stolen. To be sure, ask for the original papers, otherwise don't buy it.

dont think its stolen as it still have warranty left..and i dont think the warranty
left...

but still a tough choice as the moeny id be spending to buy would be a waste if i cant unlock it Sad

Many people don't have skills or knowledge. That is why we are here to help all of them.
If you know the laptop is not stolen and the price is good then buy it because it can be unlocked and you could do it by yourself or you could hire a friend to help you.

Most people you see here were succesfull in doing that. Some of them had limited skills but they did it.
