Hi victor
Yes it's my fault, i did the most stupid thing, instead of taking it apart again to unsolder the wires, i just pulled the wires, 2 came ok, but the last on pin1 took a piece of PCB copper, so there is a gap of 1mm in front of that pin.
I tried to make a bridge yesterday, beetwen that pin and a capacitor normally connected to it. but i think i got pin 1 and 2 soldered together.
I put the laptop back together yesterday, and now it's stuck with IBM Thinkpad logo and won't go further. No error message, just stuck.
I hate me . I just hope my experience will serve other, and they won't pulll wires like me being lazy.
If you have a suggestion, it's welcome.
And sorry about my english |

Hello dear Victor, I just repaired (recovered) the supervisor password from ThinkPad 600X, your instructions are very helpful, you really save this laptop. I'm from Mexico and will send the dump (bin file) extracted from my EEPROM to the e-mail address mentioned in the pdf.
I really appreciate that you share this information with all the people than need it.
Thanks again.
Al.

Hello guys,
After surfing hours and hours how to unlock the TP bios i came here. Finally a site with some good info
I have a IBM T41. And im totally locked out of the system. I can only come in with the supervisor password which i dont have.
I found the atmel chip. But where do i have to solder the wires to? Im a noobie on electrical circuits so if somenone could help me i would be very gracefull.
I read victors tutorial that you must make contact to the SDA-In, SDA-Out, and SCL COM port signal. So if i understand this good they are all build in in your com port. |

Welcome to Service Forum.
The whole section here is in English
HDP cannot be recovered from eeprom, but it can be recovered with HD security tools, if you are lucky.
Also if you are very lucky, the SVP and HDP are the same.
For ready made interfaces please contact us to support -at- allservice.ro

Posted by Soonlee. Tue May 09,2006 6.36am.
Hi Victor,
My Thinkpad 770X is showing error codes 161 and 163 plus the dreaded
password prompts, although I have replaced both the stand-by battery and
the back-up battery with new ones.
From the link in ShuG's posting dated Tue April 25,2006 1.06pm, regarding
eeprom location, my eeprom appears to be 24RF088T, not 24RF08. Can I still use the software reader R24RF08 with it?
Also, since the 770X is an old model, do I need to execute the patcher
''patch.exe'' first, as suggested earlier (ref: post dated Nov 27,2005)? If so,
where can I get this patch.exe?
Thanking you in anticipation of your help,
Soonlee from Toronto, Canada. |

I will answer you.
The eeprom is 24RF08BT and yes, you can use R24RF08. Also running pather before reading is a good choice.
patcher.exe can be found in the reader's folder, it is included in the kit.

Dears,
I have a IBM TP A21m with BIOS Password.
I did the single SIPROG but I can not to connect to the eeprom
The message is
Initializing Timer...18169 OK!
ERROR: Circuit not found or bus error
I check the SIPROG but there is not the problem, and the connecccion is:
PIN 6 - GRD (first connected)
PIN 8 - SDA
PIN 10 - SCL
Can I know how make the circuit posted by Nicolás ??? (the pictures).
Thank you very much.
Eduardo.- |

Circuit not found - it's a circuit fault for sure.
If you follow Nicolas circuit's picture and compare with your circuit maybe you'll figure out what's the problem. Usually the diodes polarity and/or wrong COM port pin enumeration or wrong resistors value are to blame.
It is a very simple circuit in fact... |

Dear Victor,
I can see that the circuit showed by Nicolás, is not the same that the SIPROG. Can you post a .pdf with the details (like simple-i2cprog.pdf)?
I need urgently to buy (and use) the W24rf08, and I can not sold the wires to the chip pines. But the Nicolás circuit seems simpler to sold to the mainboard.
Thank you for your support and help. |

Hmm, Nicolas here made exactly the SIPROG. He used a DB9 female and built the circuit on it..
Maybe this picture will help you better:

Hi Victor
I followed the instructions and made out a eeprom reader. It works for sure because I tried it once.
When I tried it on TP240 and TP42 they both has the same chip and I was able to read out the data but the password doesn't come out working. The read out date are like "fsfss" very similar on both TP.
I connected to notebook com1 port when the first time it work but this time I connected to PC Com1 Port. Will that make any different?
I tried the ibmpass /a switch but it only give me shorter words.
I am running Windows XP, use 24rf08.exe and ibmpass.exe under dos mode.
Please give me some hint.
Thank you |

I think should be better to see the dumps. Send them to our support email address.
T42 is possible to have the TCPA chip enabled, but for TP240 sounds like a circuit malfunction |
