First let me say thank you for all the information conveyed on this site.
I have a TP R51. I built the siprog and downloaded the appropriate software. Again, I say thank you! When I went to do the soldering on the chip apparentley my soldering pen was to big or I was not to steady with it. I accidentley bridged the SDA and the SCL with some solder. I believe the TP powered down. Anyway at this point I noticed that the password icon on the display was gone. I assumed I shorted the board and probably fried the whole TP. I disconnected everything, batteries included, unbridged the two pins on the chip, let it sit awhile then put it back together. I plugged it in and pressed the power button, it fired up and I then pushed the power button again to shut it down. I was elated believing I had dodged a bullet. "I was going to try this again later." Well, I went through the initial steps up until I powered on the TP, and I did. I now have no monitor read out at all. I also do not hear any post beeps. The indicator lights all flash when started then the lights for "Power" and the "Battery" are the only ones left on (normal), fan is running? I even tried an external monitor and the Fn F7 routine, nothing. The keyboard seems to not be working other thah ON OFF, that is, no beeps from any of the keys if held down. Did I fry it? Is there any hope?

Oh boy!

Let's just hope the power controllers or the Sbridge SMbus ports are still intact and is only what I usually call the "freeze effect" due to static remanence/board capacitance over the logic address lines (or so I think). Do this:

-remove all the subcards, modem/wifi, then remove the CMOS 3V cell (and main battery of course). Remove the drive and the memory.
- put back the memory, insert the AC cord and power the things up. if it does, then put all back together (and try again )

R51 is using just a 8 pin eeprom, for that there's no need to solder on since you may use 2 probes for SDA and SCL. I think I must update the tutorial and remove the soldering method since many people screw up with it occasionally.

Myself Millermccullum and I read your entire posting. Welcome to the forum Idloo. I am giving advise to you that please sell your monitor I think there is no solution you will find in future also. Moreover you should have to take advise form any expert. Anyways Thanks. Stay Connected.
