|
|
Hi Victor, and all other members of the forum.
First, thankyou very much for the excellent job.
I'm new on this forum.
I've a nb IBM TP R52E; it's locked; I've disassembled it and soldered three wires on the Atmel chip and I read it with R24RF08 software and the simple-i2cprog hardware creating the dump.bin file (twice); after I read the dump.bin file with IBMpass 2.1 and enable/disable the translate; but at the address 0x0330 I've only 0s. Some strange char are at 0x0338 but nothing regarding a password!!
In the first bytes I can read the model of my NB, so I think I've correctly read the memory! And there are some other "section" like USR or CON.... but no password!
Can you or someother help me? I can send the dump file (email or PM), if it's necessary.
Thank you very much.

|

I'm very sorry, yesterday evening I was really confused!! I mismatched the TP model. Sorry. the real model is TP R50e.
Inside it I found the ATMEL 24RF08 and all the other think I wrote are correct. Correctly read the eeprom, but IBMpass not reveal me no password...
Please read my previous post just changing the model and the offset where I found some strange char
Code: | 0x0330 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
0x0340 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 88 C6 FA 03 83 C2 FA 02 |
Sorry again for the mistake, but I need help too.

There's nothing to reveal. The laptop is not having a supervisor password.
So, simply remove the CMOS battery (main battery as well) then make a quick short-circuit between the poles to drain the capacitors. Put them all back, and enjoy your unlocked laptop. |

Thanks a lot, but I already tryed
Is the CMOS battery the one in the service manual called "Backup battery"? The one near the miniPCI wifi card (that cover the ATMEL chip)? If it is, I already tryed. May be a faulty 24RF08 can cause the lock? Can I send you or to Victor my dump.bin and some fotos of my TP?
Thank you, Davide |

IS not a faulty eeprom. I think is about the HD password. Is the logo showing a cylinder? Then replace the drive. |

You're right! I removed the drive and turn on the nb, and I can get in the bios and all the other function.
A lot of time disassembling..... dumping, etc... a good experience.
About unlocking the disk, 'cause in it there's a lot of data... Is there a possibility? We can change thread...
Thank you, Davide |
