I made a program to reset 1802 error some years ago. I didn't test on R61, but it was meant for older 24RF08 based laptops (T4X series). You may try it.
www.allservice.ro/store/utils/1802.zip
Make a DOS bootable media (floppy, memstick or CD) and copy this program on it, boot the media (remove the WIFI to be able to do it) and execute the program.
Another idea to bypass the BIOS POST error, is to remove the non OEM wifi card, boot into windows(linux) then put the laptop in hibernate mode. Insert the WIFI card, then resume from hibernate and install the drivers.
A good ideea is to have the another identical OEM WIFI and copy its eeprom data to the new one. WIFI and almost all NIC cards uses a small 2402 or 9346 eeprom for the bootblock/MAC settings, which includes the PCI ID as well. _________________ Victor Voinea

...Thinkpad R61i...
At me the same problem: "1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card".
no1802.com does not help.
New Bios here will not help, older is necessary. And earlier than 2008 is not present. It turns out that the new program of type no1802.com is necessary (who would create it?) to modify Bios. Or need to change subsystem ID for 4965AGN network card, only as it to make?
Somebody can help?
Thanks |
