i got have TP T43, and i looked for the any 24* or any serial eeprom and didnt find, only the 24C64, the one for ethernet.
if any scheme for both T41 and T43/p we may find away.

anyway, i got another TP which is TP41. the 8 bytes for the pass were strange enough for me, the checksum byte is 08 while the first byte is FB.
its not a scan code thought!.
i dont remeber the 8 bytes but sure about the first 5 bytes and the checksum which are
FB 2A 98 9C FB 64 A6 08
i dont remeber it because im away, if its wrong i will correct it next time.
may it be a numerical passowrd!?.

T43 and some R52 don't have 24RF08, sorry.

The other laptop, T41, is using passphrase and has the TCPA functions activated. To get rid of the password the dump has to be modified and eeprom reprogrammed.

I don't get it. What is the link between SVP and HD?
The HD password is not stored in that prom. Only if the owner (former owner, not you) is so naive to set the same pwd everywhere.
